An inaugural ceremony to honor senior monk Shi Yinle to become abbot of
Baima (white horse) Temple was held in that temple in Luoyang city, Henan
province on Nov. 1st. Monk Shi Yinle (clasping his palms in the middle)
was promoted to the position, putting the eight-year long vacancy for an
abbot in White Horse Temple to an end. In the picture, Monk Shi Yinle was
entering the temple during the ceremony. With comprehensive knowledge in
Buddhist studies, Monk Shi Yinle frequently visited foreign countries to
promote Buddhist moral in recent years, accelerating Buddhist cultural
exchanges and successfully persuading many Buddhist personages from
abroad to participate in domestic charities.
