Traditional education of Yao people

www.chinanews.cn 2005-11-24 16:41:17

After centuries of evolvement, the ancestors of Yao ethnic group passed
down a traditional teaching used to educate their next generations in Yao
history, rules, etiquette and moral. Such teaching is called "Dujie."
"Dujie" is an indispensable sacred class for Yao males in Guangxi's
Tonglian Yao Township during their growth. For Yao males, however old
they are, they will be protected by deities and obtain social value only
after they have passed "Dujie."
