Beijing-Shanghai railway to realize electrization

On the morning of Nov. 15, in the section of the Beijing-Shanghai railway
in Anhui province's Suzhou City, electrization construction technicians
were replacing fittings for the railroad in the cold wind with a
temperature of under six degrees Celsius (42.8 degrees Fahrenheit). The
Beijing-Shanghai railway electrization project is China's another
important project of electrization reconstruction based on existing
railway. Upon completion of the reconstruction project, gas engines will
be replaced by advanced electric engines. The Beijing-Shanghai
electrization project 1,453 kilometers in length will be completed by
July, 2006.
