Pricey "roasted duck"
www.chinanews.cn 2005-12-27 14:00:54
A Shoushan stone carved "roasted duck" priced at 280,000 yuan (US$34,500)
was put on the counter for sale at Qilu Jewelry, an influential mainland
jewelry producer, in Shandong's Jinan on Dec. 26. This "roasted duck" was
so exquisitely made and lifelike in shape and color that an elderly lady
could hardly believe this is not a real roasted duck until she sniffed if
it smells. According to Qilu Jewelry, this Shoushan stone "roasted duck"
is the only one in China. It was exquisitely designed and produced by a
master sculptor on the basis of the shape and color of a Shoushan stone
and took several years to complete.
