Traditional ways to enjoy the cool in Turpan

Villagers of the Grape Village of Grape Township in Turpan enjoyed the
cool in front of their homes on July 14, 2005. The temperature in Turpan
has stayed above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) for days.
Uygur people place their beds over ditches and under trees. These are
effective and traditional ways for Uygur people to escape heat in rural
and urban areas.
